OUR STORY

Paradigm Studio opened its doors in 2021. Named for its fascination with exploring core movement principles, the studio is dedicated to the traditional exercises and philosophies of Joseph Pilates.

Every teacher is carefully selected for their high level of hands-on knowledge and skillful approach––qualifications that go far beyond their formal resume. This allows for an unmatched degree of customization and intentional, long-term program design for every client to achieve their personal goals in a welcoming atmosphere.

To facilitate the fullest expression of the Pilates Method and meet the needs of every body that visits the space, the studio is equipped with a full suite of traditional apparatus. The result is the kind of deep strength and balance that has earned Pilates its staying power and reputation for nearly a century.

Katie Yip’s systematic approach to Pilates was developed through years of study with some of Pilates’ most revered teachers. Her professional Pilates journey began with an apprenticeship under Chris Robinson at S6 Fitness in 2010 before going on to complete her 700-hour comprehensive certification with Brooke Siler and Cary Regan at re:AB Pilates in 2013. Today, Katie continues her studies with Cary Regan, Cynthia Shipley, Jerome Weinberg, and Lauren Stephen.

This diversity of education within the traditional Pilates Method gives Katie a unique perspective that brings together the deep experience of her mentors. Her style is known for appropriately challenging her clients and utilizing thoughtful program design to efficiently transform how their bodies move and feel.

In addition to her Pilates training, Katie holds an MA in Exercise Physiology from Columbia University and a BS in Physiology & Neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego.
