Exploration of the Principles of Pilates Class: Part 2

This class will bring your practice of Joes method to life in a new and unusual way.

The application of Joes principles to his method is more challenging than most students understand, as it requires deep focus on multiple skills and awareness at once, and takes practice. It will assist both students and teachers to further develop their skills in order to truly integrate Joes principles into their Reformer and Mat workouts in a new fresh way.

Precision, Centering and Control are three of the six Principles Joseph Pilates developed as the heart of his Contrology program.

In Part 2 of this workshop, we will first explore, and then apply these Principles to the Basic/Intermediate Reformer and Mat work. Intensify and Deepen your workout, and enliven your teaching by exploring and applying Joes Principles of Pilates with Lauren Stephen. Pilates Reformer and Mat work were designed to be a continuous flow of exercises to challenge every part of the body, while keeping your mind connected to your body.

Joe’s principles are meant to be applied to all aspects of apparatus and mat work.

• Expand and deepen your understanding of the Principles of Pilates and how they apply to, and enhance your workout.

• Hone your ability to focus and sustain that focus.

• Increase the efficiency of your workout to gain more profound and transformative results.

• Maximize the overall personal benefit of your Pilates program, and your ability to teach your clients.
